A historic occasion for KORT! The Honourable Prime Minister of Pakistan; Imran Khan Sahib visited the KORT Educational Complex on 06 February 2020. The Prime Minister inaugurated The KORT Educational & Residential Complex, interacted with the children and visited Classrooms and Residential Hostels for orphan boys and girls.

It has been 4 years since our children were relocated from our previous residence in Mirpur City into our permanent home in Akhtarabad, Mirpur. Through the grace of the Almighty and the generosity of our donors, the progress of KORT and transformation of the children in our care has been amazing.

As part of our ‘Turning Disability into Ability’ Project, 200 wheelchairs were distributed in Swabi KP Pakistan recently in the presence of the Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan; Honourable Asad Qaiser Sahib, 50 wheelchairs were distributed in G7 Islamabad and a further 50 wheelchairs distributed in Trarkhal, Sudhnoti, AJK.

Thousands of families were devastated by the 24th September 2019 Earthquake in an area very close to the KORT Educational Complex. Many homes were demolished and many more damaged beyond economical repair, unstable and unfit to live in.

Knowing how to cook is very important because, as you get older, you aren’t always around people who can make you food and eating out every night gets expensive and isn’t very practical. Being able to fix yourself meals whenever you need to is something everyone should be able to do.

Thanks to our generous donors, 14 orphan children were blessed to perform Umrah and make dua (prayers) for their loving sponsors in December 2019.

KORT became the first organisation in Azad Kashmir and second in Pakistan to have a General Officer in Command by Office and Commandant by Office as official Members of the Governing Body of a charity by Official Approval. Major General Majid Jahangir (GOC) 19 Division Mangla, Pakistan, was part of KORT’s Governing Body Meeting to discuss important issues, updates and plan for future projects.

The fantastic humanitarian efforts of KORT have not gone unnoticed! Senior members of KORT including our Chairman Ch Mohammed Akhtar briefed the Prime Minister of Pakistan; Honorable Imran Khan sb about our orphans’ home and the rehabilitation program of the Earthquake affected people as part of our Earthquake Housing Project.

Businessman, Philanthropist and Guinness Book of World Record holder from the United Arab Emirates; His Excellency Sohail Mohammad Al Zarooni met with Chairman of KORT; Ch. Mohammed Akhtar in Dubai to learn about the endeavours and achievements of KORT.

Children who achieved high marks during the first term exams at our own KORT School & College of Excellence were congratulated and recognised for their hard efforts by our Chairman Ch. Mohammed Akhtar, KORT Trustee Mohammed Rashid Bashir and KORT Manager Sajid Khan.
