With the generous support of donors, KORT installed a shallow well along with a Water Filtration Plant in Trarkhal, Sudhnoti, AJK and another Water Filtration Plant in Johriyan, Mirpur, AJK which will benefit hundreds of people with clean drinking water.

The England and Yorkshire Leg Spinner was amazed with the high quality care for orphan children at KORT and pledged to support KORT provide a brighter future for even more orphaned children. A 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck the region of Mirpur, Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday 24th September 2019. So far 38 people have lost their lives and over 500 people have been injured. Over 500 homes have become uninhabitable and roads leading to villages outside the main city have been destroyed leaving hundreds of people stranded and unable to access food and water.
An inspirational organisation who specialise in orphan care; Orphans In Need, will be supporting KORT to sustain the orphan children in our care with good nutrition and quality education.
A two-day training workshop on ‘Effective Teaching Techniques’ was held at KORT for our teachers by Senior Trainer, Educationist and Development Professional Abdul Rashid Chaudhary Sahib.
A delegation including Richard Corbett, Member of European Parliament (MEP) Co-Chairperson Friends of Kashmir Group in the European Parliament, Ms Irina Von Veise MEP, Shaffiq Mohammed MEP, Mrs Lorraine Kirkwood, Mr Hussain Khan (Chief of Staff MEP Irina Von Veise), Raja Najabat Hussain Founder Chairman JKSDMI, Raja Sajid and Shabir Ch, visited Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust in July 2019.
Thank you to our donors, Muskorteers, and Naseeb Abbas for supporting this blessed project. A record 50 Qurbanis (of large animals) were performed at KORT which resulted in the distribution over 3,500 meat packs (2.5kg each).
