Donations In Ramadan

Ramadan 2022 is nearly upon us and it is a time for us to keep in mind our heritage and work to end up being closer to Allah (SWT). The rich history of the Islamic faith is something to be commemorated, and it is through our festivals and traditions that we are able to get a deeper understanding of our origins– both as people and as Muslims.

In Ramadan, charity is at the heart of the neighbourhoods with Muslims paying Fitrana and implementing the lessons that Allah (SWT) teaches us. It is this which allows us to continue to celebrate whatever that is significant about our faith.

The Holy Month of Ramadan is one of the most substantial durations of the Islamic calendar– it is a chance to enjoy the blessings and benefits that this auspicious month gives all.

Ramadan

During Ramadan, both fasting and acts of charity are required upon Muslims who can do so. Fasting from dawn to sunset is representative of a spiritual purification, an effort to become closer to Allah, and an attempt to get a better sense of human pain. The act of fasting require Muslims to practice self-control and sacrifice, along with reflect upon and show compassion for the deprived and less fortunate. Muslims are reminded to be generous and increase their charitable actions.

Zakat In Ramadan

Your Zakat contributions can supply those most deserving a monthly care bundle of nutritious food.

Individuals living in developing nations such as Pakistan and Azad Kashmir, particularly those in the middle of nowhere are a few of the most deserving people of month-to-month food plans. When without them thousands will not be able to satisfy their religious responsibility, this is progressively essential during the month of Ramadan.

WHY Is Gift Aid Important?

Gift Aid is a scheme which allows registered charities like KORT (orphanage charity) to reclaim tax on a contribution made by a UK taxpayer. Recovering tax on your contribution will increase it by 25%.

To put it merely:

If you donate ₤100 and you are not a UK taxpayer and therefore do not tick the ‘Gift Aid box, Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust will invest your contribution as per the proportions, i.e., ₤96.70 will go towards charitable programmes and activities, and ₤3.30 on administration and functional costs.

If you contribute ₤100 and you are a UK taxpayer and therefore tick the ‘Gift Aid’ box, Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust will get an extra ₤25 making your total contribution amount of ₤125. This will then be invested according to the proportions, i.e., ₤120.96 will go towards charitable programs and activities, and ₤4.04 on administration and functional expenses.

Just Remember:
Charity work in Ramadan and the rest of the year, combined with your generous gifts, really can make all the change to those residing in a world where every day is a battle for survival.

The entire team here at KORT thanks you for your generous contributions in 2021 and look forward to receiving your generous Ramadan donations in 2022. We hope you have a blessed Ramadan filled with numerous benefits.
