Boost your donation by an extra 25p for every £1 you donate

Gift Aid It!If you are a UK Taxpayer, providing consent for us to claim Gift Aid on your donation allows us to claim 25% of the value of your donation from the tax that you pay on your income. Gift Aid is then used on our admin costs meaning 100% of your donation goes towards the cause.
By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree that I am a UK Taxpayer and would like Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust to reclaim tax on all donations I have made within the last four years and all donations that I make hereafter. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year, it is my responsibility to pay any difference. I will notify KORT if I want to cancel this declaration, change my name, home address, or no longer pay sufficient tax on my income and/or capital gains.

By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like KORT to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that KORT will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When KORT receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.

YOUR SADAQAH

Can Go A Long Way

You can donate any amount of Sadaqah to KORT that will be used where needed most for any project or programme which is of benefit to orphans, widows, people with disabilities or poor people.

What is Sadaqah?

Sadaqah is a voluntary charitable act towards another being, whether through generosity, love, compassion, or faith. These acts are not necessarily physical or monetary. Simple good deeds such as a smile, or a helping hand, are acts of Sadaqah.

The difference between Zakat and Sadaqah

While Zakat is an obligatory charity due on every Muslim on a yearly basis, Sadaqah is an entirely voluntary charity which can be performed at any time of year, and any amount can be given. Unlike Zakat, which has several stipulations regarding how it can be used, Sadaqah can be used for any project or programme which is of benefit to people.

Sadaqah donations made to KORT are usually spent on the sustainability of the orphan children in our care. However, when we have enough funds to sustain the orphan children in our care, any surplus Sadaqah donations may be used on the following appeals/projects we may have on at the time:

– Providing food and essentials packs to needy families in AJK/Pakistan.

– Providing wheelchairs to needy disabled people in AJK/Pakistan.

– Providing sewing machines to needy women/widows in AJK/Pakistan.

– Providing winter clothing/blankets to needy vulnerable people in AJK/Pakistan.

– Providing homes to needy vulnerable families in need of a home following natural disasters in AJK/Pakistan.
