Member of the House of Lords of the United Kingdom
I am proud to be an Ambassador for KORT.
I have had the privilege of seeing KORT go from strength to strength.
From its leadership team under the guidance of Akhtar bhai to its volunteers, from the inspirational success stories of the KORT children to the vibrancy and laughter of the beneficiaries at the KORT site, everything about the organisation is an example of how charitable work should be done.
The facilities are some of the best in Pakistan and KORT is testament to the principle that third sector work can be delivered in a first class way.
I wish them continued success.
Ambassador, Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust (KORT) — United States
Dr. Sajid Tarar is a Pakistani-American civic leader, entrepreneur, philanthropist and humanitarian based in the Baltimore–Washington region. His career spans law, business, investment, public affairs and human services, with decades of leadership dedicated to strengthening communities and serving vulnerable populations.

International Cricket Star — Pakistan
Muhammad Abbas proudly joined us in Derby for our hospital charity event (20th September 2026), where we were delighted to announce him as our new KORT Brand Ambassador.
Speaking after his appointment, Muhammad Abbas said:
“It’s a huge honour for me to be part of such a great cause and such a great charity. I’ve been following KORT very closely through a close family friend who has told me so much about KORT beforehand. But to come to this event and see and hear about the hospital project and all the other projects KORT are involved in, I can’t express it in words. It’s beyond what I or anyone could actually expect.
An amazing charity, and I’m always here for KORT in whatever capacity I can. If I can be a small help, I’m here. I’m looking forward to seeing the progress of the hospital and all the other projects, and I will definitely look forward to visiting the campuses on my return to Pakistan.
Chaudhry Akhtar, you’re an inspiration not only to me but to people across the world for what you’ve done for humanity.”
We are incredibly grateful to Muhammad Abbas for his kind words, support and commitment to the KORT mission. His decision to join us as a brand ambassador is a tremendous honour, and we look forward to working together to make a lasting difference.
Welcome to the family, Muhammad Abbas! 🏏💚

Barrister, Member of Parliament
I am proud to be an Ambassador for KORT. I have seen first-hand the heart of this organisation, its leadership under the guidance of Ch Akhtar, the dedication of its volunteers, and the impact it delivers with compassion, professionalism, and dignity. From the hope KORT restores for orphaned children, to the practical support it provides for families and communities, KORT is a powerful example of charitable work done properly: rooted in service, built on trust, and driven by results.
What has always stood out to me is the way KORT turns generosity into lasting change, whether that is responding to urgent humanitarian crises or building long-term institutions that will transform lives. The vision for a much-needed hospital for Azad Kashmir and surrounding areas is exactly that: a landmark project that will reduce dangerous journeys, bring healthcare closer to home, and uphold dignity where it matters most. I wish KORT continued success, and I am honoured to support its mission.

I am grateful that organisations like KORT exist. As a proud daughter of Kashmir, I am honoured to be an Ambassador for KORT. From building purpose-built homes for hundreds of orphan children to tackling education and health inequalities, KORT demonstrates a compelling model of what purposeful giving can accomplish.
To the KORT team, thank you for your dedication to the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Your efforts are not overlooked, and I know that every child you house, feed, and educate carries your commitment forward into a brighter future. I will continue to support KORT as an Ambassador, and I urge everyone to get involved with their work and see for themselves the difference it makes for the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Former Principal, Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Medical College, Mirpur
Whilst working as Principal at MBBSMC Mirpur, I was invited to a ceremony commemorating the victims of the October 8th, 2005 earthquake, held at the former home of Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust (KORT) in Mirpur. Witnessing children of various ages narrate their poignant stories and describe how KORT gave them a new life was deeply moving.
KORT became a true home for these children, providing them with facilities and care just like our own children receive at home. Under the leadership of Ch. Mohammed Akhtar, whom the children regard as a father figure, KORT offered a nurturing environment.
I personally witnessed the significant moment when KORT transitioned from the city to its purpose-built home for orphans in Jarikas, Mirpur. This new facility stands as a unique example of excellent construction and management, thanks to Ch. Mohammed Akhtar and his tireless team. KORT has achieved great milestones through the vision, courage, expertise, and commitment of Ch. Mohammed Akhtar.
Now, I am proudly part of KORT, which has grown from a local entity in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) to a globally recognized welfare enterprise.
Vice Chancellor, Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST)
Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust (KORT) is an example of providing a homely environment to orphans, particularly those who had lost their parents and guardians in the 8th of October 2005 earthquake.
I have been associated with KORT in my personal and official capacity. Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST) has also been collaborating with KORT and helping the trust to achieve its objectives further and better.
I urge everyone and institutions to join KORT so that its services are extended to the ‘Set’ orphan children. I as a person and Vice Chancellor of MUST consider Ch. Mohammed Akhtar (founder of KORT) a blessing of Allah (SWT) for humanity and in particular, for the orphans living at KORT.
KORT is not just an orphanage but a home in a true sense. Ch. Mohammed Akhtar has set a rare example of creating a unique second to none facility, sparing his life and resources for the cause.
I would like to request the civil society members, and the Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora to join Ch. Mohammed Akhtar to accomplish his mission and to make his dreams come true. We, the faculty members, staff and students of MUST will always be there for KORT to provide a brighter future for orphan children. We understand that only life spent for others is worthwhile. And those who make it a purpose of life to help others are loved by Allah. So, let us enjoy the love of Allah (SWT) by following the Sunnah of our beloved prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Super flyweight professional boxing champion from Bradford
WBU (World Boxing Union), GBU (Global Boxing Union), and WBC (World Boxing Confederation) Super-flyweight World Boxing Champion Tasif Khan has been an Ambassador for Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust (KORT) ever since he learned about the organization's transformative impact on the lives of orphan children in Azad Kashmir & Pakistan.
Tasif is deeply passionate about helping vulnerable children. He actively participates in our fundraising events whenever he is available and regularly visits the orphan children in our care to boost their morale. In a remarkable bid to raise awareness of KORT's endeavours, Tasif ran three back-to-back marathons during Ramadan 2019 while fasting!
Tasif is now an integral part of Team KORT, dedicated to helping alleviate poverty in Azad Kashmir and Pakistan. His commitment and efforts are invaluable to our mission.
