Team KORT took on Mount Snowden to raise funds for the largest free-of-cost hospital in Azad Kashmir, it took friendship, understanding, and purpose to hike such a distance!

The nine-mile trek up the highest mountain in Wales took place on Sunday 8th May 2022. The full trek took them between 6-7 hours up and down.

Beginning in the town of Llanberis, in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, this breath-taking challenge was surely an experience for the 32 fundraisers trekking to the top of Mount Snowdon

At 1,085 metres above sea level, Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales. Situated in the glorious mountain range of Snowdonia, we were treated to some spectacular views at the summit.

Who Was Involved and What Was Achieved?

Volunteers from different towns and cities came together to make this initiative a great success raising a total of £51,011.39. The amount of awareness created was phenomenal with many new volunteers joining and becoming part of the KORT family. The sisters imitated and organised a  women’s Snowdon climb which was equally successful raising over £25,000. The success of the 2 climbs have encouraged more initiatives and fundraising projects in the coming months In’sha-Allah.

The Cause: Free Hospital

HELP KORT SAVE LIVES BY BUILDING THE LARGEST FREE-OF-COST HOSPITAL IN AZAD KASHMIR The Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) said: When a person dies, all their deeds end except three: a continuing charity, beneficial knowledge and a child who prays for them, (Hadith, Muslim).

With a population of 4 million people spread out over 5 thousand square miles, access to a healthcare facility is a major issue in Azad Kashmir. Those who do live near a healthcare facility are not able to afford expensive lifesaving treatments or find that the facility does not provide specialist services that they need. To alleviate the pain of the suffering humanity in Azad Kashmir, KORT is building the largest hospital in AJK to provide free quality healthcare for all.

This project which includes a 500-bed multidisciplinary hospital with a range of tertiary and secondary care services. The hospital will be built close to the existing KORT Educational Complex along Jatlan Road in Mirpur Azad Kashmir.

Donate to KORT

This is the perfect opportunity for us to donate as Sadaqah-e-Jariyah (continuous reward) for us and our loved ones who have departed this temporary world. Any amount of Sadaqah and Lillah is welcome. For those who donate £1,000 towards this appeal, they will get a personalised brick tile in theirs or a loved one’s name installed at the hospital. For those who donate a £5,400 share in a hospital ward, they can have theirs or a loved one’s name on a collective plaque which will be installed at the hospital.

Please donate Sadaqah & Lillah generously and help spread the word.
