We are a non-profit organisation with an ambitious concept to improve the poverty situation in Kashmir, to offer health care and schooling to kids, and to offer clean, reliable, and sustainable water to areas of Pakistan & Kashmir.

Here are some specifics about us:

  • The name ‘KORT’ is short for ‘KASHMIR ORPHAN RELIEF TRUST’.
  • The charity was formed in 2005 after the devastating 7.6 magnitude earthquake hit the northern area of Pakistan and Kashmir. It was estimated that the death toll was over 100,000.
  • KORT is a registered UK charity (No: 1113836) based in the UK and hence regulated by the Charities Commission.
  • We work in Pakistan, Azad Kashmir and UAE.
  • We have a 100% donation policy, to guarantee your gift goes precisely to your intended task rather than on our operating costs.

We have offered and executed thousands of Sadaqah and Zakat eligible projects ever since we started our work in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. Our projects vary from orphan sponsorship to house builds for widows, water filtration plants to building schools in rural areas, food packages for the poor, providing wheelchairs to the disabled or providing sewing machines for poor women to become self-sustained. You can choose what you would like to donate towards.

Here are some projects we have delivered lately:

School in Mawa Islamghar KORT builds the School with an aim to provide basic primary education in a standard environment to make it comfortable and accessible for young learners in the remote areas.

Without you and your support, KORT could not possibly carry out any of the humanitarian work we do, so your belief in us is not just important, but it is vital.
