The Stage (Ashra) Of The Mercy (Rehmah) And
The Importance Of Charity In Ramadan
Ramadan is an important month for Muslims all over the world because, during this month, Muslims desire to grow in their piety and their spiritual relationship with Allah. While Ramadan’s primary goal is to make us conscious of the hunger and starvation of those who are deprived and are unable to meet their basic needs.
“O believers, share what We have given you.” [Qur’an 2:254]
Ramadan teaches us to have restraint, discipline, sacrifice, generosity, mercy, and empathy for the suffering of others. If we are not mindful of the people around us who are suffering from hunger, have no shelter, and shortage of even the necessities of life, then we cannot build a spiritual relationship with Allah and receive His mercy.
Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) Said:
“The person who benefits others the most is the one who Allah values the most, and the deeds that Allah values the most are those that make a Muslim happy, relieve him of suffering, settle his obligation, or prevent him from going hungry. ” [Silsilatul-Ahadeethus-Saheehah]
The first ten days of Ramadan, are the days of Allah’s Mercy (Rehmah), should be fully embraced. Every Muslim must seek the Mercy and Blessings of Almighty Allah.
Pray to Allah ask for forgiveness for yourself and for you the ummah.
Pay Zakat in these 10 day Allah may be please with one action and forgive all your previous sins.
KORT has many Zakat eligible projects that are running in Azad Kashmir and Pakistan.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ Said:
“This month’s first stage brings compassion from Allah, the middle stage brings forgiveness from Allah, and the last stage brings relief from the torment of hell.” [Sahih Al-Bukhari]
One of the signs of a society where mercy genuinely prevails is that those in need of help are taken care of by the rest of society. When Ramadan comes, many Muslims choose to give charity.
To make the month of Ramadan simpler for those in need, it is advised to give charity in the early days of Ramadan. Such as the KORT food packages we do. These packages contain enough food to last a month for a family of 6.
We can earn Allah’s mercy by showing compassion to others. Charity is one of Islam’s five pillars, charity is crucial for building a sympathetic society where people care about others as well as themselves and their families.
Muslims who practice charity see it as their duty to do so to seek Allah’s favor and mercy. Our faith grows as we give to others, and as a result, we can anticipate Allah to reward us both in this life and the next. Giving to charity out of our money does not reduce our wealth. Spending money for Allah’s sake purifies a person’s spirit from the desire for material wealth.
Allah SWT stated: “The example of those who spend their riches in Allah’s way is like a seed that sprouts seven spikes, each containing a hundred grains. And Allah increases for whomever He pleases. And Allah is All-Knowing and All-Comprehensive.” [Qur’an 2:261]
Wealth is viewed as a gift from Allah, but when money is used to serve Allah, the love of materialistic items is wiped out. Spending in Allah’s way shows the Allah that persons love for Him is his top priority in life and that he is ready to make any compromises and sacrifices required to please Him. And those who use their money to help the poor and meet their basic needs will receive Allah’s mercy.
Making sure that your money is used to help genuine disadvantaged people is just as important as giving charity. Therefore, giving charity to a proper organisation and doing research BEFORE you give it is very important. YOU have a choice in how your donations are used, so whenever you give charity, choose an organization that is transparent, helps deprived, poor people and meets their needs.
Do your research to make sure the organization you choose is respectable and treats donations responsibly.
Just remember that the poor and needy are all entitled to a portion of our wealth, and is our right as a Muslims to help them. Even if its £1 or £1,000, in the eyes of Allah it is the sincerity that counts and not the amount.
