Housing Project for Flood Victims

This year’s floods left a third of Pakistan under water, with at least 1,400 dead and more than 33 million people affected, the country has been ravaged by monsoon-triggered floods washing away bridges, roads, livestock, and people.

Pakistan’s worst climate-induced natural disaster in years was caused by record torrential rainfall and melting glaciers in the country’s northern mountains. Overflowing sewage and floating rubbish also triggered a rise in waterborne diseases including cholera and dengue.

Working with Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Agency, Team KORT from Mirpur, Azad Jammu Kashmir was on the ground providing warm meals, food packs, blankets, and medical aid in the affected areas of Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Baluchistan, Sindh, Punjab, and southern Pakistan.

Many homes have been demolished and thousands are damaged beyond economical repair, unstable and unfit to live in. Therefore, we need your help to build 1,000 homes for the most vulnerable people in Balochistan, Punjab and Sindh provinces of Pakistan.

*Zakat, Sadaqah, Lillah, and Interest donations are accepted*

Each house will consist of 2 rooms and a bathroom at a cost of £1,600 per house.

Please donate generously and if you are a UK Taxpayer, do not forget to add Gift Aid to your donations which will help with our admin costs. This also ensures all funds raised for this appeal goes towards this cause.

May Allah accept your donations and bless you all abundantly in your health, wealth, and Imaan. Ameen.

Jazak-Allah khair and thank you.

Pakistan Floods 2022

This years’ floods have been the most devastating in recent history. Usually when natural disasters strike, they affect a certain area where rescue and relief efforts are concentrated, but this year, over 30 million people have been affected by the floods all over Pakistan.

Praise be to the Almighty, Team KORT were among the first charity to be present on the ground delivering aid in various locations at the same time to support the suffering humanity.

Many areas have seen total devastation with hospitals, health centres, schools, businesses, homes, and crops destroyed. For the survivors, there will now be a long process to rebuild their lives.

Over the past two and a half months, KORT have provided food packs, blankets, cooked food, water bottles, tents, mosquito nets, medicine, medical assistance in Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Sindh, Punjab, and southern Pakistan with the support of the Pakistan Army.

This was truly one of our longest, tiring and most enduring relief project we have ever faced and now, two and a half months later, we are able to stop our relief work and think about rehabilitation for some of the worst affected areas.

Thank you to all our donors who have donated generously towards our appeal, and a special thank you to the Government of Azad Kashmir for entrusting KORT with 100 million rupees of government funding to support the flood affected people of Pakistan.

Thank you also to all our amazing staff and Muskorteers (volunteers) who planned and arranged all the logistics to procure, deliver, and personally distribute the aid.

THE FIRST WEDDINGS AT KORT

The Messenger of Allah, Peace be upon him said: “Marriage is a part of my sunnah, and whoever does not follow my sunnah has nothing to do with me.” [Ibn Majah]

Marriage is a sturdy bond which is not only a key factor in Islam but is also a highly recommended Sunnah. The Prophet of Allah peace be upon him has mentioned that the moment a person becomes mature and financially stable, he should immediately seek to get married. It ties the knot between a man and woman, who have solemnly vowed to love one another, offer mutual respect to each other, and to become partners in assisting one another towards the pleasure of Allah.

From among the benefits of marriage is having a committed partner for life, it helps save oneself from committing the sin of unlawful relationships, it increases the ummah of the final messenger, and to bear children who will go on to become our inheritors of family heritage and wealth, personality, good characteristics, and our noble teachings. We pray that Allah grants us pious children who will support us when we are old and pray for our forgiveness when we leave this temporary world.

Following the 2005 Azad Kashmir Earthquake, many orphaned children came to KORT who had lost both their parents, and other close family members. These children have been raised as one of our own for the past 17 years and now some of them have completed their studies, have a job, and are of marriageable age.

In August 2022, two weddings took place at KORT for two young adult females who joined KORT in 2006 as orphans.

The management of KORT made every effort to ensure that these individuals did not feel the loss of their parents and celebrated the occasion as one big family with all the students and staff at KORT.

A Mehndi night was arranged prior to the wedding day and the atmosphere was lively with children of differing ages laughing and playing around and well-wishing the two special individuals.

Congratulations to the two couples and we wish them a blessed and prosperous marriage that is filled with blissful happy memories and an abundance in barakah.

Please continue to support KORT so we can help provide a brighter future for the orphans in our care.

THE WAIT IS OVER —

Watch the best wedding of the Year of 2 of my KORT daughters . Tears flow naturally when something touches your heart .

First Ever Burn Centre in AJK!

A burn injury can be one of the most severe forms of trauma requiring specialised treatment. Due to a lack of burns services in AJK, KORT will be building a specialised Burns Centre in Kotli AJK to meet these intricate needs.

The main objective of this medical service is to deal directly with patients who have suffered severe burns and to offer them complete undivided care and treatment. This is just one of the many ways that KORT is actively assisting in the field of public service.

Azad Kashmir’s first ever Burn Centre will be built by KORT and shall be stationed near the already established DHQ Kotli Hospital. We will ensure that modern equipment will be readily available for them to use.

We hope it will become very useful and an important asset for the public and surrounding areas in need of specialists for treating major burns.

Once the appeal is officially launched, there will be an opportunity to donate Sadaqah, Lillah and Interest donations for this project.

One Big Leap for Charity

Team KORT and the amazing volunteers got together once again this time to take a leap out of a plane to help raise funds towards the KORT hospital.

As promised, a team of brave Muskorteers took part in a skydive on the 23rd of July to raise awareness and funds for the KORT Hospital Project. With perfect weather conditions, all the Muskorteers completed the skydive safely after diving from 15,000 feet.

The Skydive took place at Hibaldstow at an old World War 2 airfield which is situated near Brigg by the A15 in North East Lincolnshire.

The Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) said: “When a person dies, all their deeds will seize except three: a form of continuing charity, beneficial knowledge and a child who prays for them.” [Hadith, Muslim]

16 volunteers jumped out of a plane in a tandem skydive which included both men and women, showing patience and bravery, free falling from the sky at 120mph from a height of over 3 miles. All landing safely with a smile on their face and a feeling of accomplishment, their experience was surreal, an experience that can’t be mirrored.

The KORT Hospital Project is the perfect opportunity for us to donate as Sadaqah-e-Jariyah (continuous reward) and build a means of everlasting rewards in the hereafter for ourselves or our loved ones who have departed this temporary world.

Any amount of Sadaqah and Lillah is welcome. As a goodwill gesture for those who donate £1,000 towards this appeal will have a personalised brick tile in theirs or a beloved one’s name installed at the KORT Hospital once built. Also, those who donate £5,400 for a share in a hospital ward shall have theirs or a loved one’s name on a collective plaque which will be installed at the new KORT Hospital.
